Window Comparator Circuit Design
The breadboard circuit of the circuit above is shown below.
Window comparator circuit design. In order to power the lm741s we apply 5vdc to v pin 7 and we connect v pin 4 to ground. Figure 5 depicts the proper operation of the window comparator. So the first thing that should be done is powering of the chips. So the first thing that should be done is powering of the chips.
A window comparator is basically the inverting and the non inverting comparators above combined into a single comparator stage. 1 we have used 2 of 4 comparators in a lm339. The outputs of the each comparator in the lm339 is a open collector transistors tied together and connected to a led and resistor. In order to power the lm741s we apply 5vdc to v pin 7 and we connect v pin 4 to ground.
A window comparator will output a voltage between two selected voltage points and be off outside that range. The window comparator detects input voltage levels that are within a specific band or window of voltages instead of indicating whether a voltage is greater or less than some preset or fixed voltage reference point. Notice that when the input v in is between v h and v l the output goes to the pull up voltage v p. T vh vin vl vout time s 0 00 10 00m 20 00m t 0 00 5 00 10 00 figure 5.
The window comparator circuit we will build with 2 lm741 op amp chips and an inverter chip is shown below.
